Two Meetings in Khartoum

Peter, Director of Women's Education Partnership travels to Sudan and South Sudan twice a year to visit our staff and volunteers and to see our projects first hand. In doing this, through reporting on what we see, we can connect with our donors and spread the word.

In Khartoum Peter met two of our key supporters

Imogen

Imogen, who lives Spain but who has a heart for the education of women in Sudan is a most generous supporter of Women's Education Partnership.

She arrived one day before us here and spent the day in the project office meeting our staff and Elham, a university student whom she sponsors. Imogen will help us interview our candidates for a new post as we seek to improve the training we give to our teachers of adult literacy for disadvantaged women.

Imogen brings huge enthusiasm for what we do in Sudan and her educational expertise and wisdom are invaluable. Thank you Imogen.

Dr Nabila

Dr Nabila has run eye care outreaches for us since 2002

She now is influential in ensuring that the next generation of medical students (and all of these young people will graduate in July) do a research project on eye care and blindness and take part in outreach work to help the disadvantaged.

Next week we will go with Dr Nabila to an eye care outreach and educational hub in a remote area where the women need help and support most.
